Wednesday Night(26th April), Cabaret Voltaire, Edinburgh....
STOW Presents, featuring Mellow Sub Machine, Found and How To Swim

Thursday Night(27th April), Mono, Glasgow ....
STOW Presents, featuring Mellow Sub Machine, Found and How To Swim....

We're going to work hard to make these events as enjoyable and as special as we can for you all attending, we'd love the support and we can't wait to show off our bands and present a night of quality musical madness......

Triptych say of FOUND....
"Like the Beta Band on Wham bars and banjos, like Beck on flutes and Irn Bru, Aberdeen woozy-jazz four-piece Found reveal a mellow caper of breaks, beats, acid-folk, hip-hop and banjos: it’s a casual jaunt that fondly recalls Sufjan Stevens, Four Tet and Tortoise along the way.

Formed in 2005, and with a debut album due in May, Found have played across the country; made their TV debut on BBC
Scotland’s The Music Show; and are currently basking in MTV love action thanks to ace current single, ‘Mullokian’. To wit: don’t miss them. Their uptown jazz, their downtime poise, fills ears with joy and toys with loins."

And of Mellow Sub Machine.....
"Ambrosial proponents of ensorcelled melody and dulcet voodoo, Glasgow’s electro demoniacs Mellow Sub Machine threaten to follow in the dancing shoes of erstwhile Gdansk label-mate, Mylo, thanks to parapsychological live performances – and an equally formidable debut album, Los Machinos Mellos – which is due for unleash in May."

More details soon,
Do get in touch!!!!

Cheers for now,

Tess and everyone @ Gdansk x

SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS / GDANSK RECORINGS

CATALOGUE NO. :: SPCD02 / LATO 005

ARTIST :: Various Artists

RELEASE :: ‘Surface Textures Volume One’

FORMAT :: CD

RELEASE DATE :: April 2006

Edinburgh’s SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS have teamed up with Glasgow’s GDANSK RECORDINGS to bring you: ‘Surface Textures’ Volume One – A collection of past, present and future releases from the SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS catalogue.

‘Surface Textures’ is the first in a series of compilations from the label which draws together tracks from all the previous vinyl releases and makes them available on CD for the first time. With tracks by FOUND, S-Type and Vin Landers, the compilation also features exclusive remixes by Sonar Kollektiv’s Dimlite, German electronic producer Granufunk and the Fence Collective’s avant-garde popsters the Deaf Mutes.

Highlights include the deep motorcity funk of S-Type’s ‘Soul For Your Stereo’ (the Dimlite Revaluashun) which features the microphone skills of Detroit’s rising star Finale; FOUND’s intriguing debut single ‘Mullokian’ and the bass-heavy electro work out on the Deaf Mute’s remix of ‘Found Can Move’ (pay close attention for the seriously fast melodica solo in the outro – the Deaf Mute’s Reuben Taylor has very nimble fingers!)

As usual the sleeve artwork has been crafted with as much care and attention to detail as the music it holds. This fine sampler is an excellent introduction into the sound of SURFACE PRESSURE RECORDS – a label continuing to release consistent, high quality music from Scotland and beyond.

Cheers

Tess x
